The Center of Cancer Wellness gives high recognition to the Volunteers that give their time, patience and heart to cancer patients on a daily basis.  Without the volunteers Candy's Place would not be the organization it is today.  Volunteers, undoubtedly give their time because they have compassionate hearts and want to truly make a difference in the lives of others, one cancer patient at a time.

~ I feel blessed to be able to help those who are reaching out for comfort even in any small way.  My volunteering here at Candy's Place has helped my own needs with fighting this dreadful disease.~  Sharon Harvey

If you are interested in joining our Volunteer team, please fill out the Volunteer form on the website, call our office, or stop in to meet us Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

Four junior students from the Dallas High School Key Club graciously raised funds through a  Kid's Carnival to benefit Candy's Place, The Center for Cancer Wellness on February 13, 2010.  As a result of the determination and effort put into this carnival, along with the participation of local members of the community, Gary, Arielle, Chelsi and Ali raised 1140 dollars to give to Candy's Place, a resource center for cancer patients and their families.  Along with the check, the students then turned around with another wonderful surprise and brought in a truck load of supplies that Candy's Place is in continuous need of.  The items were gathered together by the students using the website wishlist.   Gary, Arielle, Chelsi and Ali took their completion project and Key Club Carnival more seriously than just a way to pass high school; it was a way to help the community in any way possible. The day the students showed up with everything from the check to stamps to water and greeting cards, was a memorable day and Candy's Place just wanted to say thank you again to the students for their sincere, heartfelt generosity to all those battling cancer in our local community.

Lake Lehman High School Student, Mariah Raspen directed, produced, and choreographed a musical production, "A... My Name is Alice" that benefitted Candy's Place, The Center for Cancer Wellness.

"A...My Name is Alice" is a musical revue about six women doing what they do best...being women.  The play was held on January 15th and 16th at the Lake-Lehman Senior High School auditorium.  Mariah graciously donated all proceeds from the play, along with proceeds from selling ribbons at the door.  In full, Mariah raised almost $1500!  Through her hard work and dedication, Mariah helped make a huge impact on the continuing financial need for help at Candy's Place, The Center for Cancer Wellness.  Candy's Place wants to extend our sincere gratitude to Mariah Raspen again for the wonderful work she did in helping raise the funds for our local cancer patients.
